Cadet Private E-2:

1. Recommendation by SFC Phillips based on uniform inspection.
2. Know Cadet Chain of Command (Sqd. Ldr., Plt. Ldr., Co. Cdr., BC., etc.)
3. Must be able to answer the following question, "What does the cadet creed mean to you?"
4. Good attitude, bearing, and performance.

For all Promotion Boards from PFC (E-3) to MSG (E-8), the following is required.

Cadet Private First Class E-3:

1. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
2. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements.

Cadet Corporal E-4:

1. Must have two months Time-In-Grade (TIG) as PFC E-3
2. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
3. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements
4. Perform Drill and Ceremony in a squad (certified by Co. Cdr. during class).
5. Know the Formal Chain of Command (BC. and higher).
   

Cadet Sergeant E-5:

1. Must have three months TIG as CPL E-4.
2. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
3. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements.
4. Know the Formal Chain of Command (Bc and higher)
5. March a squad as the squad leader (Certified by the Co. Cdr. during class).
6. Must know the duties and names/ranks of the Battalion Staff (BC, XO, CSM, ...).
7. Must be able to recite the Cadet Creed from memory.
   

Cadet Staff Sergeant E-6:

1. Must have three months TIG as SGT E-5.
2. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
3. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements.
4. Must know the symbolism of the Unit Crest.
5. Know the Formal Chain of Command (BC. and higher)
6. Must know the duties and names/ranks of the Battalion Staff (i.e. BC, XO,...)
7. Must be able to recite the Cadet Creed from memory.

Cadet Sergeant First Class E-7:

1. Must have three months TIG as SSG E-6.
2. Must have demonstrated outstanding performance as SSG E-6
3. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
4. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements.
5. Must know the symbolism of the Unit Crest.
6. Know the Formal Chain of Command (BC. and higher)
7. Must know the duties and names/ranks of the Battalion Staff (i.e. BC, XO,...)
8. Must be able to recite the Cadet Creed from memory.
9. March a Platoon as the Platoon Sergeant (Certified by the Co. Cdr. during class).
10. Perform the 15-Count Manual of Arms.
    

Cadet Master Sergeant E-8:

1. Must have three months TIG as SFC E-7.
2. Identify six out of eight JROTC officer and enlisted ranks.
3. Perform Drill and Ceremony stationary movements.
4. Must know the symbolism of the Unit Crest.
5. Know the Formal Chain of Command (BC. and higher)
6. Must know the duties and names/ranks of the Battalion Staff (i.e. BC, XO,...)
7. Must be able to recite the Cadet Creed from memory.
8. Prepare and Form a Company for Inspection(Certified by the Co. Cdr. during class).
9. Perform the 15-Count Manual of Arms.
10. Must know the Battalion History and the symbolism of the Unit Patch.
